About Private Conversation Lesson
Q: Can I take your lessons even though I am a beginner?
A: Beginners are absolutely welcome. We teach Japanese regardless of ability level.
Q: Do you offer group lessons?
A: There is no option to take group lessons. We do not offer group lessons, because of the variety of language abilities between learners, causing time to be wasted for students who potentially already know particular grammar points, vocabulary and so forth. Students can have a more personal experience with their teachers in a one-to-one environment.
Q: I do not have a PC. Can I take your lessons?
A: It is possible to use a smartphone or other device that has access to Skype. However, we recommend using a PC.
Q: I had already booked a conversation lesson. Can I cancel and change the date and time?
A: You must notify us one day in advance of the scheduled lesson. If we do not receive one day prior notice of a lesson cancellation or booking change, your booking will be forfeited and you will not receive a refund.

Q: Why is your English explanation sometimes unnatural?
A: We have American English staff and British English staff. After Ichiyo writes explanations and makes videos in English, they check and correct his English every time. However, when an American English staff reads the English sentences that the British staff wrote, the American staff feels that the English sentences are unnatural and vice versa. Ichiyo realized that writing natural English for everyone is impossible, and our service is not intended to teach English. Please let us know if you cannot understand our explanations. We will teach Japanese until you understand it.
When we translate Japanese sentences into English. We often use unnatural English. The reason is that Japanese has many expressions that English does not have. In this case, when we use unnatural English, please keep in mind that Japanese sentences do not have exact English translations.
